Beach and seaside season… At least for many of us… At least for a few days of vacation…
Finally! … the long-awaited “break” from the routine of home and work…
But with the heat of summer, is it really relaxing to go on vacation by the sea?
It’s a matter of personal preference… Certainly…
However, it’s an almost indisputable fact that the sea tends to tire or even stress one out… the heat, the confusion, the frenzied rhythms, the goal of getting tanned…
Why is it usually so difficult to think of vacation, and not just a seaside one, as a precious opportunity to discover and enjoy a rejuvenating experience of peace?… To seek it… To optimize it…
It takes little to reconnect with this dimension, a source of well-being at every level of being…
Are we by the sea?
Is the sea calm?
Let’s try to enjoy it, in the early hours of the morning and in the evening, organizing the rest of our time around this priority…
There are usually far fewer people on the beach at these times of day…
Let’s practice a bit of yoga, or another gentle movement, that allows us to observe our breath… Even if we have children, let’s involve them, drawing them into the harmony of movement performed in silence…
A few minutes are always better than nothing…
Experiencing this introspective dimension turns out to be simpler and more natural during these phases of the day…
Let’s indulge in savoring the contact of bare feet on wet sand… the effect of the arrival of small rhythmic waves…
Let’s walk along the shore trying to close our eyes for brief moments… focusing our attention on the rhythm of our steps… listening to the gentle and regular movement of the waves…
What peace!
What deep calm!
Even a few minutes will be enough to leave an indelible mark in our mind… a mark that will generate a natural calling… The mind, in fact, happens to savor and memorize, in this way, a kind of “pattern” that could be replicated, perhaps even in different circumstances, with entirely different methods, appropriate to the specific situation… …always aiming to experience the same harmony, the same quiet… again…
Is the sea rough?
Let’s remain firmly standing with our eyes closed, facing the sea…
Let’s listen to the roar of the waves, the whip of the wind on our face and body…
Let’s open our eyes, remaining centered in this listening…
Let’s allow us to feel one with the sea, the wind, the noise, the misting of water on our body…
Even brief moments will leave an indelible mark…
And perhaps, they will already allow us to get in touch with the soul… to expand our awareness beyond the narrow confines of our body and sensory perceptions…
What a Wonder!!!
Have a good vacation!
Let’s keep following these scattered crumbs...
… they bring Far…
… and Near, at the same time...
Let’s follow the way of the soul…
Have a great Journey dearest soul-friend...
